Housing Options Officer - Local Authority - Kent - £19 p/h - 3 months - Temp to Perm Opportunity
I am currently working on behalf of a local authority in East Kent who are looking to recruit an experienced Housing Options Officer on a 3 month contract.
The Permanent salary will range between £30,000 and £36,000 Dependent on experience.
The main responsibilities will be:
To direct the work of the Housing Opportunities Team, Housing Allocations Team, Housing Health and Disability Assessment Team, Housing Support Team, and the Mutual Exchange Project Officer.
Accountability for the strategic development of these services having regard to the Council's strategic housing responsibilities, legislation and case law, local priorities, customer service, and budgetary requirements.
Management and accountability for tenancy support services to residents who are experiencing difficulties and may be at risk of losing their home.
To play a lead or key role in the development and implementation of strategic housing policy.
To play a lead or key role in the development and management of stakeholder partnerships, both internal and external.
Responsibility for Housing Options and Allocations Team budgets.
To provide or coordinate responses to Members Enquiries, complaints, and customer enquiries.
To prepare reports, correspondence and briefings for internal management, individual members and Council Committees.
To conduct internal reviews under 1996 Housing Act, Part VI relating to applications to the Council's Housing Register.
To provide a lead within the Housing Department on the impact of Welfare Reform.
To establish and monitor performance indicators and provide accurate and timely information relating to performance.
Promote and implement best practice in customer service.
To act as an Ambassador for the Council, and deputise for senior management.
