Position Summary:
This position performs repetitive assembly of pre-engineered electro-mechanical equipment control modules. Working from hard copy and electronic assembly documentation and instructions, the position follows established sequencing of hardware and wiring installations using predefined tools and fixtures. The position takes direction from manufacturing team leads in assigned work stations. Position working environment is standardized assembly with paced productivity requirements. Working with continuous leadership in a production environment, the position is held to the highest standards in, and compliance with, safety, quality, delivery, productivity, procedures, policies, and metrics.

Essential Functions

Functional

  • Read, follow, and execute tasks per sequence defined by electronic or hardcopy drawings and work instructions.
  • Follow standardized methods of work to accomplish an established set of assembly tasks.
  • Assemble components and sub-assemblies in an assembly line fashion per specific defined process and in defined time frame.
  • Use tools including: Torque Drivers, Fully Automated Test Systems, and Lifting Fixtures.
  • Follow instructions provided by a Tester to perform rework of product test anomalies.
  • Work from established product bill of materials and assembly drawings of products currently manufactured and previously manufactured products from a variety of Manufacturing Operations facilities.
  • Assess products returned from customers for service and plan restoration of modules.
  • Follow instructions provided by a Tester to perform rework of product test anomalies.
  • Evaluate unique assembly and disassembly requirements and prepare an approach based upon safe work practices.
  • Clean control modules, restore painted surfaces, and perform general preparation prior to product shipment.
  • Achieve a consistent level of quality that is typically measured and verified in downstream processes.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of related experience in electrical and electronic product assembly.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to perform, sequenced mechanical assembly from defined procedures, and sequences.
  • Demonstrated understanding and logical approach to analyses and problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate independently and productively with minimum supervision.

    Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to move and operate safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manipulate large assemblies with standardized fixtures and material handling equipment.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms.
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protection equipment including safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc as necessary per job function.
  • Ability to operate hand pallet jacks, motorized tuggers, and cranes in moving large and heavy products.
