Overview

Savage Services is currently hiring for a Payroll Analyst to join our growing team in Midvale, UT! In this position, you will provide audit and oversight to effect timely and accurate processing of multi-state and international (Canada and Saudi Arabia) payrolls; manage the garnishment, and payroll inquiry functions of the payroll department, as well as analysis, creation, and closures of W2Cs and tax issues. You will play a critical role in business process improvement initiatives and be relied upon for subject matter expertise throughout the implementation of a multi-year system improvement and expansion project. The Payroll Analyst works with the Payroll Manager to improve efficiencies in the payroll process and to document procedures as well as providing independent support for other strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates payroll tax compliance for 45+ states as well as Canada
  • Research and coordinate resolution of payroll tax discrepancies
  • Monitor quarterly Wage & Tax data for errors and process corrections as needed
  • Assist in preparation for tax audits as needed
  • Audit Payrolls for completeness and accuracy
  • Research and resolve discrepancies of payroll information and documentation
  • Supervise, mentor and develop payroll staff
  • Own the garnishment process end to end including balance sheet reconciliation and timely issue resolution
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
  • Year-end processing for the U.S. and Canada
  • Responsibilities are not all inclusive and may change based on the need of the company


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of payroll processing and auditing experience
  • Supportive of team goals and objectives
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • People Management skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Ability to identify and implement efficiencies, documentation, and best practices
  • Problem solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
  • Experience with systems implementations a plus
  • Payroll accounting skills; tax management & payroll compliance
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive

Education/Experience:
  • CPP preferred
  • 5+ years applicable experience
