The successful candidate will report to a dynamic HR Director and provide a generalist HR business partnering and administrative service, to support business leadership teams and employees across multiple sites.
Working with the HR Director to modernise of existing systems, policies and processes including a new HR systems implementation in early 2019;
Overseeing all HR administration including; new starters, leavers, headcount reporting, attendance management, training reports and payroll liaison;
Assist in the compilation of business and employment related articles for the quarterly Group staff newsletter. This will involve effective liaison between key business leaders, in addition to specific involvement in the creation of people centric articles.
Recruitment & On-boarding
Developing and implementing a professional recruitment process including attraction strategy and a robust selection process.
Developing and managing relationships with recruitment partner organisations.
Ownership of the on-boarding process to ensure new hires are successfully inducted into the business in a professional and timely manner
Developing and implementing a management development programme for supervisors and managers with a focus upon developing modern people management skills and practices
Delivering internal workshops on subjects such as recruitment and selection, conducting disciplinary meetings, performance management and internal communications
Developing a Rising Stars programme to identify, develop and retain key talent for future leadership roles.
Reward & Recognition
Maintenance of up-to-date pay and benefit records
Occasional pay and benefits competitive benchmarking
Liaison with payroll team in respect of adjustments such as salary increases or deductions
Management of a recognition scheme including the allocation of Awards to nominated personnel
Disciplinary & Grievance
Provide guidance and support to line management on all aspects of current employment legislation, including incident/issue investigation, formal disciplinary meetings and outcomes.
Provide guidance and support to line management on all aspects of employee performance capability reviews and outcomes
Employment law guidance & support
Provide guidance and support, and where necessary training, to the business in respect of all relevant aspects of current employment law. Specifically, ensure that the business adheres to TUPE regulations, unfair dismissal legislation and all types of formal consultation of individuals and workforce groups.
Work closely with company Health and Safety teams and Business Standards personnel to support company initiatives, process reviews and tendering activity in respect of items such as GDPR, risk management, cyber security, Modern Slavery and Bribery policies
Technical Training administration
Maintain up to date and accurate records of all accredited and regulated training awards to ensure operational teams are competent and legal
Ensure that operational management have clear visibility of current and lapsing accreditations so that an appropriately skilled and flexible workforce can be maintained
Arrange training and refresher courses to renew licences with approved skills training providers
Provide support to the Group HR Director to both lead and participate in Group wide people management initiatives including organisational design, management development, recruitment and redeployment and potential M&A activity
Provide support to the Managing Directors to both lead and participate in business unit people management initiatives.
Applicants will have a minimum of 5 years experience as a senior HR Business Partner or HR Manager preferably in an industrial/construction business. Preferably qualified MIPD. Candidates will need to be/have:
Solid HR generalists with good experience of ER, policy development, recruitment, training, performance management and employee wellbeing
Blue chip HR experience benefiting from modern practice and thinking
Self-sufficient and be able to create and develop new ways to retain, engage and communicate with direct labour workforce as well as office based staff and management
Proven lead practitioners in topics/projects including TUPE, harmonisation, systems implementation and policy launches or changes
£40,000 to £45,000 per annum.
