An exciting opportunity to work in technical services, providing support to the Technical Services team in a full range of technical areas.
Develop in all aspects of Technical Services, which will be delivered through an apprenticeship training programme.
Main areas of responsibility will be:
- Diagnose problems and conduct repairs/maintenance to STIHL machinery
- Help maintain and service internal demonstration machine stock
- Support the technical helpline to provide engineering advice to the dealer network
- Undertake a short placement at a dealership

Training to be Provided:
The intermediate level apprenticeship programme enables candidates to work towards a framework of qualifications, as follows:
Level 2 NVQ Diploma Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering.
City and Guilds L2 Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
Functional Skills (Level 1) in Math, English and ICT.
Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.
Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR).
2 years +
Strong communication skills
Attention to detail
GCSEs including Maths and English
Interest in the power tool industry
Positive attitude towards changing technology
Patient and persistent in fault diagnosis
Willing to travel between STIHL House, Camberley and Crawley College
Previous apprentices have remained with STIHL to progress their careers and, in some cases, continue to study at a higher level.

The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour effective from 1st April 2018. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
