Title: Associate Director, Marketing & Partnerships Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer Status: Exempt The Associate Director, Marketing plays an integral role in growing the Women's Sports Foundation's brand equity, and in driving fundraising and awareness through its corporate partnerships and cause marketing programs. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), the Associate Director, Marketing is an ambassador for the Foundation, working to amplify its mission and reinforce values of leadership, equality and diversity through regional and national partner activations.
  • Build professional networks and identify national/global coalition opportunities within marketing, athletics, professional sports and girls' and women's rights Key Responsibilities: 1.Corporate Partner Cultivation, Activation and Stewardship
  • Assists CMO with various aspects of corporate prospecting and cultivation oIdentify potential partners with alignment to WSF mission and values oActively research and solicit small to mid-size partnerships, andscreen incoming inquiries related to WSF cause marketing and/orsponsorship opportunities
  • Develops proposals and marketing collateral including brochures, factsheets, information kits and general information materials
  • Engages in ongoing research including industry and competitive analysis
  • Serves as the internal project leader for partner activation programs andspecial events, as assigned
  • Oversees recognition opportunities and fulfillment of contractualobligations to WSF corporate partners
  • Coordinates ongoing correspondence with partners and prospectsincluding special mailings, program updates and year-in-review reports
  • Maintains accurate records and monitors incoming revenue and program expenditures
  • Follow trends in marketing, sponsorship and development to further drivebrand-building, stakeholder engagement, giving and donor loyalty 3.Marketing Communications and Brand Strategy
  • Contributes to marketing and brand strategies that drive the success ofpartner activations, fundraising campaigns and mission objectives
  • Works with the CMO and the Foundation's agencies to ensure brandalignment: articulation of WSF's desired image and position throughout theorganization and to all constituencies, both internal and external
  • Assist in the development of WSF digital and print communications,marketing campaigns, program videos, PSAs, direct mail appeals andtrademark filings
  • Participate in brand marketing and communications activities led by the VP of Communications and CMO, including the development, design and launch of a new website in 2019
  • Participates in, or presents during, strategy sessions, Board of Trustee meetings, Marketing & Communications committee meetings
  • Works with the Digital Media Manager to assess the relevance and effectiveness of web editorial content, emails and social media, to ensure corporate partner integration, and to facilitate content sharing opportunities with Foundation stakeholders.
  • Reports on the success of cause marketing initiatives through KPIs including donations, traffic, press and brand awareness
  • Builds professional networks and identify national/global coalition opportunities within marketing, athletics, professional sports and girls' and women's rights 4. Events
  • Manages execution of corporate partner benefits for Women's Sports Foundation signature Annual Salute to Women in Sports and other events: o Printed materials, scripts and signage; securing partner content for press releases; ensuring on-stage recognition, etc.
  • Assists the CMO and Development team in table sales and overall fundraising efforts
  • Actively participates in the planning and execution of events with corporate partnership components 5. General Responsibilities
  • Contributes to the maintenance and good working relationships with all members of the staff, boards, donors and the public
  • Contributes to the development and execution of short- and long-term department goals
  • Follows developments in the fields of marketing and partnerships, non-profit fundraising, etc., using this information to help the Foundation operate with initiative and innovation
  • Meets established deadlines; fulfills requests and completes assignments in a timely manner
  • Engages in external activities that build relationships with current and potential partners
  • Demonstrates a commitment to critical organization values and to diversity in all programming materials under his or her control
  • Contributes to the general financial stability and success of the Foundation
  • Maintains outreach to internal departments to enhance productivity and program quality; at all times exercising good judgment, maturity and diplomacy Qualifications/Core Competencies
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, communications or related field;
  • 6+ years' experience with demonstrated skills and knowledge in the conceptualization and execution of partnership programs and integrated marketing programs;
  • Outstanding interpersonal, speaking, and writing skills; strong attention to detail, keen focus on quality and ability to copyedit;
  • High level of competency on standard social media platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign or other design/publishing platforms
  • Strong understanding of women's sports and female athletes
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with overlapping timelines
