What is the purpose of this role?

We are currently seeking a dynamic and customer-centric Business Analyst to join our Service Development Team within the Wholesale Market Services department (WMS).

As a subject matter expert, you will provide expert analysis to agree the creation, amendment and withdrawal of Wholesale Services in relation to the Wholesale Service Offering. Working independently and collaboratively you will ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and market code requirements. As well as identifying commercial and contractual impacts, managing corporate risks and generating revenue for the client.

The Business Analyst will build strong working relationships with stakeholders in Legal, Strategy and Regulation, Finance, and Accountable Service Managers to effectively lead the pricing of wholesale services and maintain a robust understanding of our costs.

What makes this role unique?

The WMS department facilitates the delivery of our business's market obligations within the Non Household water market. We enable the sale of services to all companies licensed to operate in the competitive water utility market, this equates to over £400m of revenue that is managed within the WMS team.

You will fundamentally be part of how WMS are seen & experienced within the internal and external space; making customer service a huge focus of this role.

Main Accountabilities/Outputs

Publish our prices to regulatory deadlines; mitigate corporate risks through the definition and implementation of a pricing strategy and contractual terms; manage any impact on revenue and settlement processes; and establish an enduring process for the development, sign off and publication of our Wholesale Service offering (WSO) and Wholesale Tariff Document (WTD).

Use your expert knowledge to define wholesale services to be offered and/or required by the market codes.

Provide expert advice to help influence and inform colleagues/managers across the business in relation to the creation, amendment and withdrawal of services. Ensuring the impacts are assessed effectively and change is managed in line with corporate control processes.

Provide specialist economic and regulatory advice and/or resource to influence decision-making across departments; providing analytical input into the development of services.

Pricing wholesale services, defining services and agree contractual terms for the sale of services and producing the WTD and WSO.

Successful task management and development of strong stakeholder relationships to ensure all parties work effectively together to deliver and maintain a high quality WSO and WTD to regulatory and business deadlines and market leading standards.

Do you have experience in a similar role and are confident working with, and influencing people at all levels? Do you possess excellent financial acumen with proven ability to analyse complex information? If the answer is yes, we're keen to hear from you!

We are seeking a customer focused analyst who has the drive and accountability to push this role into providing an effective & insightful business tool. You will engage with all levels of the business, and have ability to translate technical language into understandable terms. The successful applicant will be educated to degree level or have relevant business process experience/qualifications; with excellent Microsoft office skills in particular Excel.

As well as strong numerical and analytical skills, with effective data analysis methods & techniques you will ideally have experience/understanding of UK economic regulation. A good understanding of the NHH Water Utility Market within England & Wales would be a bonus.

Salary Information

This role is based in central Reading, with a salary of up to £43,000 depending on skills and experience.
