My client is a global law firm with over 20 offices around the world. There are 1200 attorneys with the firm that was now founded over 100 years ago. This firm is best known for its litigation practice and is recognized as once of the top firms in the US.

Description

  • Responsible for strategic internal customer relationships, working directly with attorneys and staff in the New York office as well as throughout other offices, departments and all attorney and staff levels.

  • Serves as a primary HR resource to New York attorneys and staff, responding to questions and inquiries related to firm policies, procedures and employment law.

  • Focus on all Employee Relations issues for the firm working closely with CHRO

  • Working directly with Professional Development, Diversity and Recruiting, establish relationships with attorneys and NY Associate Committee members acting as the primary HR resource to ensure continuous support to all attorneys.

  • Assists in the annual performance review processes.

  • Oversee and monitor the onboarding process for attorneys and staff in NY, and other offices as needed.

Profile

  • Generalist experience within a law firm is a must.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent relevant work experience, required. Certification as a PHR or SPHR preferred.

  • Minimum of five years' progressive experience in human resources department as a generalist or specialist.

  • Experience with PeopleSoft 9 (or above), SilkRoad, viDesktop, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft SQL Server, XML Publisher, HTML and/or other HRMS or database reporting tools is preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits practices and principles. As well as general knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Familiarity with international employment laws, practices and data privacy laws a plus.

My client is looking for a HR Manager to provide daily support to the staff and attorneys and focus on all aspects of HR. This role reports into the CHRO and works closely with all specialist roles throughout the organization.
