Service Charge Manager
Salary £35, 059 Per Annum
Full time - 37 hours per week
Our Housing Trust is a Buckinghamshire based housing association providing homes and services to local communities throughout the Vale of Aylesbury, we have around 7,200 homes. We pride ourselves on working closely with residents and surrounding communities to make sure we deliver high quality housing, homes and services. We are looking for a Service Charge Manager to help us achieve our vision and goals.
The Home Ownership Team has a vacancy for a Service Charge Manager, to be responsible for the Trust's service charge and S.20 operations.
Reporting to the Home Owner Services Manager and managing two service charge officers, you will be responsible for ensuring that:
- appropriate budget charges are set for all schemes, blocks and properties
- charges comply with leases, tenancy agreements and legislation
- recovery of costs is maximised
- budgets and statements are issued to statutory timescales
- annual statement passes external audit
- correct charges are provided for the housing system (QL)
- Major Works programmes are tracked and S.20 notices duly issued
- Blocks and schemes are coded in line with service charge requirements
Required Skills and Experience:
You should be knowledgeable on service charges (including Major works) and have substantial experience of the data handling and communications involved in their production in a large organization.
You will be highly literate and numerate with experience of accounting and housing management systems similar to the Trust's. A relevant accounting or finance qualification would be an advantage.
You must demonstrate the ability to make decisions and to take ownership of service charge outcomes, and you must possess the skills necessary to effectively liaise with key people across the organization to achieve those outcomes.
