My client is a successful global company that provides a variety of on-site Laboratory Services to major pharmaceutical companies. They now have an exciting opportunity at a respected pharmaceutical customer south of Cambridge for a lab support technician in their Chemistry labs.
This company offers a wonderful opportunity to join a positive working environment. They seek communicative, enthusiastic and capable scientists and technicians for their roles and reward their employees with a handsome salary and benefits and a varied and valuable working experience.
About the Job
This job is ideal for a lab technician wanting a broad support role. It would be ideal for you to have some existing lab support, steward or assistant type experience in a chemistry lab, either from a private company or academic institution.
Using your good communication and time management skills you will support approximately 30 pharmaceutical research scientists with ancillary tasks while they carry out their role.
This is lab support work in a chemistry and DMPK lab and activities will consist of making up solutions, buffers, solutions, calibrating analytical instrumentation and equipment, running equipment checks on systems such as UPLC, maintaining stocks, glassware washing, general laboratory maintenance and other activities to ensure smooth running of the laboratory.
This role would suit a communicative team player that has some existing commercial lab experience they are looking to build on. A degree is not necessary and those with lab experience from school/college or apprenticeships would also be considered.
It is important that you are looking for a long-term role in the lab in a cross functional, general lab role. Experience with customer service is also an advantage.
To succeed in this job, you should demonstrate the following qualities/attributes:
- Proven attention to detail and ability to work flexibly with minimal direct supervision
