  • Create, compile, manage, and circulate information about golfers, tournaments, courses, and organizations for Golf Channel as part of a team in the Editorial Research Unit.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of content on all Golf Channel platforms, adhering to the company Stylebook for consistency.
  • Write and edit weekly research documents produced by the Editorial Research Unit.
  • Oversee and coordinate designated research projects within the department.
  • Respond in a timely manner to specific research requests and breaking news.
  • Initiate, create, and develop original content for all platforms, as well as support it.
  • Manage and organize social media content and programming from the department.
  • Work with producers of on-air programs to develop storylines, gather research, and fact check information. Responsibilities can include, but not be limited to, writing scripts, news reports, graphics, bumpers, statistics, and guest questions.
  • Work with on-air talent before, during, and after shows, providing them with accurate, contextual, on-the-spot information for broadcasts.
  • Be an expert within every area of the game covered by Golf Channel, including but not limited to the PGA, LPGA, Champions,, and European tours; major championships; collegiate and amateur golf; and World Long Drive tour. Have a working knowledge of the golf swing and the Rules of Golf along with a full comprehension of the game's terminology.
  • Be prepared to contribute to research projects across NBC Sports Group properties, as required.

  • Qualifications/Requirements

  • A deep and broad knowledge of golf, both as a fan and someone who plays the game.
  • Minimum three years of experience in print or broadcast journalism, research, writing, sports media, or related field. (Submission of writing samples required.)
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be willing to work in Orlando, Florida.
  • Must be willing work early morning, later evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Occasional travel is required for this position as needed.

  • Keen sense of what stories matter and why with a reporter/producer's intuition.
  • Sound communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to build relationships.
  • Experience with providing sports information for on-air broadcasters or media.
  • A background in journalism - specifically, experience as a writer or editor at a college or professional newspaper, top-line magazine, or website.
