The Laver Cup is an annual men's tennis competition, created to honor the great Rod Laver, and inspired by golf's Ryder Cup, where 6 of the best men's players from Europe take on six of their counterparts from the rest of the world for three days of intense team competition. The first Laver Cup was held in Prague, Czech Republic in September of 2017 and the second in Chicago, IL in September of 2018. It has been heralded by fans, sponsors, broadcasters and the players. The Laver Cup organization is expanding its core team as it works on the third competition to be held in Geneva, Switzerland in September of 2019. SUMMARY
The Director of Ticketing reports to the Managing Director of the Laver Cup. The successful candidate will have responsibility for Ticket and Hospitality Package Pricing, Communication, Sales and Fulfillment, all while working as part of the core Laver Cup team, acting as a utility player when needed, in supporting the overall business goals. The Director of Ticketing will be a key team member in fulfilling on our promise of offering "Tennis Unrivaled" to all our constituents. The ideal candidate has experience in sporting or entertainment event ticket pricing, packaging, resourcing and selling. The candidate must be an excellent project manager, multi-tasker, communicator, and leader. They must also be highly analytic and inquisitive, striving to understand various segment needs, marketplace norms, and best practices. His/her key focus is to create and execute a pricing and packaging plan across multiple sales platforms that achieve the revenue and fan engagement objectives of the tournament. The role is based in New York City but involves some travel to event sites. Often work will be required after regular business hours and on weekends to match the time zones of our partners as well as the tennis calendar. The 2019 event will be in Geneva Switzerland, with future events rotating between Europe and rest of the world cities. RESPONSIBILITIES
-Agree to event revenue and fan engagement objectives. -Work with the Event Operations team to identify all potential seating, hospitality areas, and experience opportunities for ticket buyers at the site during the event week. -Conceptualize, create and price ticket, hospitality and experience packages at varying price levels to satisfy the needs of our key segments: Sponsors, VIPs, premium buyers, and fans. -Secure agreement to pricing plan. -Oversee the development of all ticket, and hospitality sales materials and descriptions. -Create a sales plan for each package and experience. -Ensure sales resources are in place to handle all ticket and hospitality sales objectives, including, securing additional internal sales resources, or adding resellers, as deemed necessary for inbound and outbound sales efforts. -Lead and supervise ticket and hospitality package sales efforts across all outlets to ensure each group is consistently messaging the event and value proposition. -Collaborate on the go-to-market sales strategy and timeline including the utilization of various channels, lists and ticket sales platform. -Work with the ticketing sales vendor to code the manifest, pricing and messaging online to execute the sale. -Manage all ticket holds and various pre-sales. -Manage and maintain the complete ticket manifest. -Provide real time reporting on ticket and hospitality sales progress and adjust plans as necessary to stay on target. -Smartly maintain inventory to maximize sales revenue as well as have appropriate tickets on hand to fulfill late arriving VIP's and Sponsor Sales Opportunities. -Work with Laver Cup Team to conceive the VIP ticket package concept with key focus on integration of ticket data. -Manage ticket distribution on site. -Understand and manage production releases, obstructed views, and real time ticket issues on site. QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelor's degree required. -Minimum of six years' experience working in ticket operations with high profile sports or entertainment properties. -Must have a thorough understanding of the general duties within a box office. -This individual should have experience with premium price events and hospitality experiences. -Candidate should be highly organized, detailed oriented, proficient with numbers, with very strong working knowledge using excel. -Candidate should have proven ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships, manage multiple tasks under pressure, provide high level of customer service and be a team player. -Candidate should possess strong communication skills, oral and written, high degree of integrity, ability to work cross functionally, positive attitude, attention to detail and the ability to solve problems. -As one of the on-site representatives of the event and brand, he/she must be able to interact with Sponsors, VIPs, premium buyers, and fans with great poise and professionalism. -The candidate must possess the ability to be an effective member of a team. -Thorough knowledge and proficiency of ticketing systems required. -Must have experience both selling and leading ticket sales with a team and/or large venue.
