Are you a dog lover and a driver looking for a part time (Mon-Wed 8am - 6pm role) to start immediately?
A professional person is required to act as a driver and support worker to enable a visually impaired worker to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively within an office environment and during their journey to and from work including assisting with their guide dog
Key Accountabilities of the role:
  • To drive the worker throughout their region to attend events, meetings, client visits, fundraising events and any general business
  • Provide sighted assistance to the worker, including orientation and sighted guidance in unfamiliar environments
  • To located addresses, plan routes and timings of journeys to ensure the worker is able to fulfil their diary commitments in a punctual manner
  • To ensure driving is within the standard road traffic regulations and to maintain vehicle logs and completing monthly mileage forms and conducting vehicle checks, taking the vehicle for service, MOT and cleaning
  • To take notes and provide documentation to the worker as required and handle information in a sensitive manner and maintain confidentiality applying the data protection act where necessary
  • To assist with basic data input on Microsoft Office including Excel and Word, maintain Outlook calendar and maintain accurate and confidential records
  • To locate information from a variety of sources, including the intranet, print and internal systems
  • To provide exercise and environment enrichment for the worker's guide dog
Essential skills:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full clean UK Driving Licence
  • Evidence of dealing with confidential issues sensitively and with total integrity. Positive, team player, flexible, thorough, uses initiative, able to work effectively under pressure, good interpersonal skills. Ability to manage the expectations of the customer and recognise when to escalate issues to a higher level
  • Computer literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Must have a flexible approach to working hours and be able to travel to sites as required
  • Must be comfortable with dogs in the workplace/office
Must be smart, have good administration skills with an excellent telephone manner.
Must have an easy going and bubbly personality and a love of dogs
Must be prepared to be 'DBS' cleared
