Sales & Marketing Intern Programme 2019, UK
Posted on Dec 19, 2018 by Fidelity International
Fidelity International provides world class investment solutions and retirement expertise to institutions, individuals and their advisers - to help our clients build better futures for themselves and generations to come. As a private company we think generationally and invest for the long term. Helping clients to save for retirement and other long term investing objectives has been at the core of our business for nearly 50 years.
What you'll be doing:
Over your eight weeks you'll be allocated to one of our sales, marketing or product teams in either London or Surrey to give you a thorough understanding of our clients and their lifecycle, different markets and our products and solutions.
Within sales support you will gain exposure to clients, help to prepare for and attend client meetings, introducing Fidelity International and our capabilities. You will attend events to get to know prospective clients and assist in building relationships with existing contacts.
You will work on innovative marketing campaigns and assist in developing new tools to help investors choose and manage their portfolios. You could also be analysing data and assisting with market research that enables us to identify new trends in the marketplace, or product opportunities ahead of our competitors.
We have product roles across all our asset classes. You would liaise with the investment directors and the sales teams to provide market commentary and client presentations to deepen your product knowledge.
What we look for:
We look for intelligent, quick-thinking students with a keen interest in the industry. For that reason, we take on people from all degree disciplines.
You will be graduating in 2020 and you will have a minimum of ABB at A level or equivalent and be on track for at least a 2:1 degree (or equivalent).
Learning and development:
Unlike other firms that hire on a volume basis, we take on a select number of interns. Your input over the eight weeks will be highly valued here as we welcome you in to gain some real experience in a leading Investment Management organisation. We don't expect you to come straight in and know everything about what we do. You'll start the internship with an induction, during which we'll introduce you to asset management and how it fits into the City, as well as to the broader financial markets.
There are many ways to develop your skills as your internship progresses. A series of 'lunch and learns' hosted by key business speakers from Sales and Marketing, Equity Research, Technology, Eight Roads (our venture capital business) and Distribution Operations will give you a first-hand, genuine insight into the full scope of each of our businesses.
