This Job Description sets out the responsibilities of Bank Staff. The Group consists of CQC registered care facilities, community-based shared houses and independent living provision in a number of localities. The properties in which the schemes are based are owned principally by independent property owners, or Registered Social Landlords.
The staff teams work in close collaboration with health partners and other agencies to ensure that the combined programme of specialist support enables service users to meet their personal goals.
It is the role of Bank Staff to provide effective care / support and assistance to service users. Bank Staff are based either in the registered care homes, residential projects or in the floating support teams, and may be offered assignments at any location.
The schemes provide support 7 days a week. Bank Staff provide cover based on a shift roster, which includes day, evening, night and weekend duty. Working patterns are dependent on individual schemes and are subject to review to ensure that staffing cover is planned to meet the needs of the service users.
About Our Bedfordshire Accommodation Services
Bridge House delivers residential support to homeless families in Luton. The service has 7 units of accommodation that can comprises of:
- Expectant mothers
- Mothers with up to two children under the age of 10
- Single women aiming to have guardianship of their children
Our service is designed to work with families to gain the valuable skills required to end the cycle of homelessness and enable future independently sustained living. Support is provided in a flexible, individualised approach so that families can progress in a way that suits both parent and child's needs whilst in a safe and stable environment.
Assistance can range from basic interventions and guidance around resettlement and gaining/sustaining independent living to more intense support in areas such as
- Domestic violence
- Offending / Ex-offending
- Mental health
- Substance use
- Parenting skills - Including Child Protection, custody arrangements, mediation, supervised contact
- Safety in the home / family wellbeing.
Bridge House provides a stable home for families. This is so important for both parents and children who have undergone the stresses of homelessness. This service gives families the chance to focus on their futures, their aspirations and gaining skills, to be able to maintain and sustain their independence within the community.
Biscot House delivers residential support to single men aged 18+. The service has 9 units of supported accommodation (including disabled access).
Our service aims to support those with complex needs such as:
- Mental health
- Learning disabilities
- Physical disabilities
- Substance use
- Offenders / Ex-Offenders
Biscot House provides a supportive base to gain the skills and confidence to secure and maintain appropriate future living in the community - this may be independent or long term supported accommodation. The assistance provided by Biscot House is led by the individual and varies from basic interventions and guidance around resettlement and gaining/sustaining independent living to more intense support in areas such as:
- Mental / emotional health & wellbeing,
- Employment skills
- Social isolation
- Vulnerability of exploitation.
Biscot House provides support for clients to end the cycle of homelessness. Staff and residents work together to create a fun, vibrant and service user focused home, in which to develop vital skills and confidence to live in the community. The service goes above and beyond to make sure that we work with as many local agencies as possible, to provide a holistic service.
