Manage sales and profit performance, and operations of stores within region

Essential duties and responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

Store Performance Management

Lead and direct stores, districts and region to achieve sales and EBITDA goals
Develop and implement strategies and tactics to improve operational performance:
planning and executing promotional and advertising strategies and timing
planning, coordinating and implementing seasonal changes
ensuring proper in-stock levels, product mix beyond base assortment, inventory adjustments and obsolescence,
managing labor costs and other controllable expenses
Make field visits to districts to communicate, train, validate execution, and coach process improvement
Create and implement loss control procedures and oversee store adherence
Develop store budgets and goal planning
Define and implement store processes to drive standardized activities
Analyze business and financial reports to ensure strategies are being executed and goals are met
Participate in and/or conduct LOB and District Store meetings
Utilize store operations support for inventory management, reporting and administrative needs
Administer bonus and SPIFF programs

Personnel Management

Manage District Managers. Build and maintain a team atmosphere; provide coaching and development opportunities
Develop short-term and long-term bench and succession plan within Market and/or District. Prepare and support team for change and during change.
Create a culture of execution through clear goals, expectations, ethics, methods, measurements and validation to achieve desired results
Contribute to growth and development of corporate store teams through training, communication, recognition and support
Prepare performance evaluations and documentation

Qualifications

5-7 years retail management and operations which should include at least 2-3 years of multi-unit full-accountability management.
Bachelor degree in Business, Finance or retail management.
Strong computer skills, including experience with MS Office, Counterpoint (helpful) , POS systems and capable of adapting and learning to incorporate new technology
Knowledge of financial reports: ability to analyze raw data and communicate results in verbal and written formats
Demonstrated problem solving skills. Must use considerable judgment to make decisions guided by precedent and policies to meet new or unusual requirements. Must be able to consider broader implications to the organization when making limited risk decisions without all of the facts
Demonstrated analytical skills. Ability to assess situations using statistical and qualitative analysis and make recommendations and/or decisions to meet business needs specifically with market data, exceptions, trends, financial
Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to be persuasive and work collaboratively to get projects completed. Understanding of cross-departmental functionality and ability to communicate at all levels to successfully accomplish goals. Ability to accurately and clearly present new information and to make presentations to groups of employees or customers
Ability to work autonomously, and in a team environment. Strongly motivated with sense of urgency
Capable of managing multiple tasks. Ability to take ownership of a project and lead a project team to desired results while successfully meeting project timelines and goals in a fast paced, changing environment
Ability to calculate simple math, percents, ratios and measurements and use the information to forecast
Ability to travel 50-90% via airplane and vehicle with overnight stays required while continually meeting corporate standards and expectations.
Must have clean driving record and ability to rent a vehicle.
Cell phone with system capabilities to support voice, data and email coverage for use at a rate of 75+% of the time

Working environment

This position requires the employee to regularly sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle or touch; frequently talk and hear; and occasionally reach above shoulders, lift up to 50 pounds and stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl.
The position also requires the employee to frequently use a personal vehicle, computer, phone, fax and other standard office equipment and occasionally use electrical cables and simple hand tools.
While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee will occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock. The level of noise in the working environment is moderate.
Protective clothing and/or equipment used in this position includes safety glasses/goggles and gloves, and safety shoes as needed.
