Why Do We Need a Medical Transcriptionist?
The medical transcriptionist works directly with onsite providers to transcribe notes, findings and patient information in our EMR system. This is a critical link to ensure that patient information is properly documented and refenceable for the clinic.
The Impact You'll Have
You'll listen attentively to recorded materials; pay attention to each word to get exactly what is being said, and transcribe it verbatim to our EMR system.
You'll proofread information obtained to ensure accuracy.
You'll ensure appropriate translation of medical jargon and abbreviations.
Need to Haves
Highschool Diploma or equivalent
A professional demeanor, ability to work amid interruptions, ability to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
Ability to take initiative, exercise good judgment, maintain confidentiality, establish priorities, work independently.
Ability to type 50+ WPM without errors
Nice to Haves
2+ years experience in a clinic or healthcare setting
Experience with, and knowledge of, basic medical terminology
Experience with EHRs and other clinical technology
