Within CRS, the Research & Insights organization is responsible for identifying key industry and consumer trends which present the potential to impact CRS or our partners through the development of new and innovative credit and loyalty programs, cutting edge digital payment tools, and best-in-class information security.

R&I team members partner with Marketing, Decision Management, Partner Management, Digital Marketing, Business Development, Compliance & Regulatory, Risk, and Marketing Operations to drive needs assessments, define research objectives, manage third party vendors through research design and execution, and deliver actionable results that drive portfolio performance.

The Research and Insights organization is accountable for delivering strategic business recommendations, securing alignment and buy-in from key stakeholders, producing thought leadership pieces to reinforce our position in the retail and payment solutions space, and building best in class research capabilities to support key initiatives across CRS (Partner, Prospect and Customer).

Specifically, for the VP Research and Insights critical responsibilities include close collaboration with Marketing, PM and DM to drive the identification, design, management and analysis of research engagements in support of key strategic initiatives that deliver growth for our retail card products and partners.

Keys to success in this role include the ability to lead cross-functional teams through the development and execution of research engagements, being a self-starter focused on continuous improvement, keen project management skills, ability to integrate into the retail credit experience, creativity to develop new ideas and the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with partner facing teams to understand and drive portfolio/marketing research engagements in support of product and loyalty innovation, digital integration, information security, and thought leadership.
  • Provide guidance to identify, design and deliver actionable research findings
  • Manage third party research vendors (custom Quantitative & Qualitative, Online Communities, Mystery Shopping, Competitive Tracking, etc.) to execute and deliver best in class research
  • Develop plan to disseminate and present available Research to relevant audiences (both general staff and top leadership) on an ongoing basis so it's value and utility is maximized. Make Research presentations to Retailer Partners when necessary.
  • Develop into category and portfolio SME by primarily focusing on several retailing types (TBD but for example Apparel, Electronics, or Office Supplies)
  • Keep abreast of new and emerging research resources and techniques that would be relevant for our retail private label business, vet them and test as appropriate.

Business and Technical Requirements
  • Bachelors in Marketing or Marketing Research, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years in Market Research
  • Strong team player; ability to lead, partner and negotiate with cross functional team to successfully deliver client needs
  • Track record of delivering meaningful research insights that drive business success
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Promotes a strong culture of teamwork across organizational boundaries
  • Strong Word/Excel/PowerPoint skills preferred
