Job Title: Splunk Engineer
Contract: Inside IR35
The Opportunity:
Enterprise Technology is a global function within CTO. We are responsible for defining and implementing the strategy for a number of critical products across the organisation, as well as ensuring their availability, recoverability and security.
The successful candidate will be part of one of the Engineering PODs, helping to build the Splunk reporting, dashboard, and analytics that will allow our Platform to fully utilize the data we produce. This role will help establish the log inputs to Splunk and work with the technology teams to understand what associated data points can be re-used to drive automation. The POD also gets actively involved in driving strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Onboarding of data sources from different technologies into Splunk
- Development of dashboards and visualisations, reports and alerts
- Designing and building Splunk applications in a multi-site clustered environment
- Experience explaining Splunk concepts and best practices to new Splunk users
- Supporting users with technical queries
- Onboarding of data sources from different technologies into Splunk
- Understanding of data governance and lineage
- Data normalisation and CIM mapping
- Strong experience of SPL
- Development of dashboards and visualisations, reports and alerts
- Designing and building Splunk applications in a multi-site clustered environment
- Experience explaining Splunk concepts and best practices to new Splunk users
- Supporting users with technical queries
- Monitoring and maintaining Splunk performance, availability, and capacity
- Splunk platform design
- Splunk platform build and maintenance
- Splunk system and data administration
- Documentation of architecture and operational processes
- Intermediate knowledge of Git
- Strong experience with Splunk ITSI (deployment, development, administration)
- KPI design and implementation (ITSI)
- Track work effectively via Agile methods working as part of an Agile POD
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 4+ years of experience with SPLUNK with experience of use within IT Operations
- Splunk Certified Administrator, Splunk Certified Architect and/or Splunk Certified Developer
