The Research Associate - Gene Therapy is responsible for supporting AGTC's gene therapy research projects in alignment with the Company goals, working independently with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and qualify new assay methods, including in vitro and cell-based assays
Plan, execute and troubleshoot routine assays and procedures
Collect, analyze, and summarize data in a timely manner
Write and/or review SOPs, technical reports and study reports
Maintain relevant laboratory supplies and equipment as needed
Present scientific results at appropriate meetings and conferences
Observe and comply with AGTC's Employee manual and Safety and Quality manual
Knowledge of laboratory safety, OSHA policies, and EPA standards

Educational Qualifications

A B.S. or higher degree, with a degree in a Biology, Biochemistry or relevant science major
Four years or more of relevant experience strongly preferred
Hands-on laboratory experience in common molecular biology, cell biology and protein chemistry techniques

Additional Qualifications

Advanced proficiency in basic biological laboratory techniques, including cloning, PCR, bacterial & mammalian cell culture, transfection procedures and immunoassays
Proven record of delivering high quality results against deadlines
Good documentation practice
Highly motivated with the ability to work as a team player, as well as independently
Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of commonly used scientific software programs
