Beacon are looking for a Assembly Supervisor for a well established electro/mechanical manufacturing company based in Bognor Regis.
To ensure production, quality and profitability targets are met within your designated area and assist Assembly Supervisor to manage Assembly Shop Performance, Team Members and Health & Safety.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Ensure that your team members have the necessary skills and equipment to carryout their job roles effectively, implementing training programs as required.
•Ensure that the Operators are aware of all targets and support them in the achievement of this.
•Carry out the duties of Operator when necessary
•Ensure that the Company standards, procedures and work instructions are adhered to and that production output is consistently of the highest possible quality
•Recommend and implement improvements to working practices, layouts, staffing levels etc to ensure that your designated area runs efficiently as agreed by your manager and by working closely with Production engineering
•Ensure overtime levels are kept to a minimum
•You will also be expected to:
attend appropriate training as required
maintain all appropriate records
manage ad hoc projects as required
develop and maintain good working relationships with your colleagues
You will assist and deputise for the Assembly Supervisor, to ensure the delivery of product quality, On Time Delivery and Cost reductions to the agreed targets and for the development as support of the assembly team.
•Assist with co-ordination of the daily work flow and operator allocation to ensure efficient personnel utilisation. Achieve planned daily output volume and on time delivery targets.
•Assist and deputise the Assembly Supervisor with the following: -
•Ensure Line Leaders work to schedules and transact work accurately on ERP system.
•Work with peer group to enhance labour productivity and factory layout
•Lead for OTD target of 95% and actions to support
•Lead for Right First Time and actions to support
With the support of your line manager and the HR Manager you will be responsible for the development, supervision and welfare of your team. This will involve;
Qualifications, previous experience, competencies
NVQ in Supervisory Skills - desirable -NVQ Management Qualification HNC Electronics
Able to improve work flow and efficiency. Can coach and develop people to improve the business
Working knowledge of Lean techniques. Can demonstrate evidence of using Lean to improve a business.
3 to 5 years supervisory experience in electronics or detailed mechanical assembly
Experience with dealing with Sales and Customers
Very customer focused Excellent communication skills A team player able to get the best out of a team of people
