MY Global client, one of the world's leading medical technology companies are recruiting for Technicians.

Due to continued growth and improvements in medicine they are now looking to hire a Senior Workshop Technician

You will be responsible for the manufacture of orthopaedic implants and associated instrumentation and tooling, to the tolerances specified on either standard or patient specific component drawings using manual lathes, milling machines and CNC. In addition you may be asked to work on prototypes for product development or batch work to compliment the off-the-shelf stock. You will be asked to observe all safety procedures, use appropriate safety equipment and comply with all QA/QC procedures and working instructions.

As a Senior Workshop Technician you will also be responsible for ensuring that your level of experience and expertise is fully available to your colleagues and if required, you may be asked to provide support to the Production Manager.

Key tasks
The job holder will be responsible for undertaking the following tasks:
Manufacture of orthopaedic implants and associated instrumentation and tooling.
Working within specified tolerances and engineering standards.
Using precision measuring equipment in the manufacturing environment.
Meeting dispatch date deadlines.
Work within safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
To work well both as an individual, as well as a team member.
Liaising with design office team to advise and assist on production issues.
Maintain, adjust, repair and clean workshop equipment and machinery as required.
To undertake training and development as and where necessary.
Perform other duties detailed by the workshop manager, as and when necessary.

Qualifications, skills and desirable experience:
A time served apprenticeship within the engineering industry is essential. Very good working knowledge of milling machines and centre lathes; both manual and CNC and very good knowledge of cylindrical and surface grinding is essential.

Qualified to a BTEC ONC in engineering would be ideal, but a minimum City and Guilds 205 pt2 is required.

As a team player you should be able to work closely with other colleagues, and be able to contribute ideas and suggestions in a clear and concise manner.

High levels of self-motivation and the ability to achieve goals along with a willingness to learn are core values required.
