Job Title: Garment Technologist
Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: Negotiable depending on skills and experience

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Garment Technologist with experience in women's and men's wear to join our client's team.

Job purpose:

As Garment Technologist you will be responsible for the approval of all samples within the development process to the correct specifications, quality and DC checking as and when required and within the given timelines as stated in the critical path.

Key responsibilities include:

* Involved in research and range building with regards to fabric selections with the X-Functional team.
* Responsible for base blocks/fits including the creation of measurement sheets and measurement sketches.
* Work closely with the Design and development teams to review proto's and SMS for all aspects of the product details across fits, colours, fabrics and branding.
* Working closely with the X-functional team to review, create and submit accurate comments to be sent to each supplier, within the specified timelines.
* Lead Fit Sessions with the relevant X-Functional team members to review all aspects of products.
* Bulk Lab-dip approvals as and when required.
* Requesting, reviewing and approving of all bulk fabrics, bulk trims and bulk print/embroidery strike-offs.
* Seasonal X-Functional store-checks by category.
* Requesting, reviewing and approving all relevant fabric test reports including overseeing the current care-label process.
* Create and submit accurate comments for PP/Gold Seal for each supplier, within the specified timelines and ensuring product is approved for all detailed construction and that all previous comments have been adhered too.
* Consulting with the Design Manager to review the product if/when required.
* Support DC checks on landed goods, as when required.
* Submit detailed comments to suppliers including spec amendments and diagrams where appropriate.
* Conduct where relevant wearer trials to ensure quality standards are maintained.
* Liaise with suppliers on a daily basis via email, phone or other communication tools, clarifying queries and solving problems in order to maintain a strong and professional
* Maintain the relevant Garment Tech critical path stages ensuring any decisions are not detrimental to the production timelines/Ex-Factory dates.
* Submit detailed comments to suppliers including spec amendments and diagrams where appropriate.

* A highly creative individual
* Be able to manage own workload, prioritise and work within set deadlines
* Understanding of manufacturing processes and textile properties
* Will have a strong interest in fashion and clothing retail industry
* Excellent attention to detail
