Manages all media and supports product and service introductions, as well as campaigns designed to drive overall brand reputation. Candidates must be seasoned media relations professionals as well as creative thinkers, who go beyond the usual channels to development impactful and breakthrough ideas and execution.. Strategic Planning. Works with other Marketing team members to develop brand narrative and to identify future industry trends.. Provides communications counsel and plans to ALG's Communities, as well as other senior leaders in the organization.. Coordinates with various internal Marketing functions and Community Teams to develop impactful plans that support ALG's initiatives. Develops collaborative working relationships with the press and publicity community. Monitors activities to detect issues before they emerge, particularly those issues which could negatively impact our business strategy.. Protects and promotes the company's public image in a proper, coordinated and consistent manner. Coordinates appropriate and consistent responses to key issues which are in line with business policy. Enhances the accuracy and timely flow of communication across the organization. Corporate and Brand Media Relations. Oversees campaign execution, in conjunction with Communities, including managing/attending executive and C-suite level press tours and launch events. Manages thought leadership and influencer strategy. Responds to inbound media inquiries, staff interviews and provides counsel to senior executives. Drafts company statements, messaging and press materials. Prepares articles and press releases for the media. Manages company PR events, trade shows, senior expos, conference booths. Creates and oversees assembly of press kits. Manages the flow of news about the organization to the media. Crisis and Issues Management. Serves as ALG spokesperson during a crisis. Serves as the lead member of the Crisis and Issues Management team, interfacing with Legal, QA, Operations and Call Center. Plans and prepares for potential crises. Provides strategic counsel to senior leadership and messaging support when issues arise. Manages specialist agencies (Goldman) and retains counsel when necessary. ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS. At least 15-20 year of experience in the public relations field. Master's degree preferably with a concentration in public relations, marketing or communications. High energy self-starter with an unapologetic bias for action. Ability to think beyond the PR channel and contribute holistic marketing ideas and strategies. Excellent understanding of the media, news cycles, media relation strategies and execution. Must be able to work autonomously with people at all levels within the organization. Ability to quickly understand and vet potential brand risk and craft issue response strategies. Experience managing community resources. Ability to multi-task, work successfully with teams and work under pressure.
