L&D Manager / Training Manager

Our client is a business who are specialists in their sector and have had growth in the last few years by acquisition and organically. This is a new role to add value to the Training / L&D function in a business who value their development in people and their continued learning & training needs. Working with the HR Director & other Directors, and the wider HR team, the role will be responsible for developing training solutions, coaching, creating engaging workshops and programmes while working closely with the business and the wider HR team to develop and implement L&D activities that drive continual performance improvement.

-Develop an effective L&D plan, ensuring all learning and development activity across the organisation is aligned and sustainable
-Act as an Expert Advisor on learning and development matters, providing proactive advice which drives consistency, new ways of working and a positive shift in culture and practice
-Own the content and delivery of the Apprentice & Graduate Training programme
-Maximise the Apprenticeship levy
-Create a Management development framework alongside any professional development
-Lead the improvement of People capability/performance through educational interventions and ensure People Managers lead and take full ownership of their learning for their team
-Ensure robust 'return on investment' plans/tracking is in place prior to beginning any project or activity
-Work in partnership with the HR team to produce divisional/functional development plans, and ensure all activity enhances and sustains capability and performance
-Project manage activity, ensuring project timelines, quality and resource and closely monitored; updating stakeholders on progress
-Continually challenge internal processes/procedures, ensuring they are simple and robust and recommend improvements
-Ensure fit for purpose On boarding programme is delivered consistently across the business

Candidates will need to be experienced operational Training Manager/L&D experts who can evidence their history of not just being in a Training & L&D function but where you have built programmes from scratch, inception to design, planning, implementation and review. Your cv MUST also demonstrate experience in a retail/multi-site business where you have influenced senior leaders and stakeholders, sourced effective learning solutions.
