Who's the employer
APH Ltd is a well-established and successful agricultural machinery sales and hire company operating in the Eastern Counties of England and beyond.
The company maintains one of the largest hire fleets of combines in Europe, and offers a full range of specialised engineering sales and services to farmers.
APH is also the UK and Ireland partner for Haldrup, which designs and manufactures specialised machinery for all types of field research.
Where's it located?
APH is located in Peterborough but there could be flexibility on this role's location for the right applicant. The role could be home based in the East of England.
What will be expected of me?
Building on the considerable success that APH has enjoyed in this sector to date, the Field Trials Equipment Specialist will work with clients across the UK and Europe to help develop sales of trial plot equipments and services.
As well as working with partner Haldrup, who design and manufacture specialised machinery for all types of field research, the successful candidate will draw on APH's's own design and manufacturing capability together with field solutions from other sources.
The position will include generating new business by meeting trials organisations and finding solutions to meet their requirements, and attending key events and agricultural shows in the UK to showcase equipment and services.
Demonstrations with existing customers will also be part of the role, and there will be full involvement with Haldrup in Germany, including factory visits.
What qualities do I need?
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a successful track record in agricultural field trials, and have a well-developed knowledge of the equipment requirements involved
You will need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to communicate effectively with customers to determine their needs and find appropriate solutions.
You should be enthusiastic and driven, and have well-developed communication skills to ensure business opportunities are identified and maximised.
There will be travel to customers throughout the UK and Ireland, as well as some travel to Europe, so excellent organisation and time management skills are imperative.
This role could suit a trials officer or R&D agronomist who has a real interest in plot machinery and is drawn to a commercial role.
