Our client is a global media company who are looking for a Business Analyst. The successful candidate will be working closely with the FP&A Manager and Finance Manager, but reporting into the Head of Finance and will be based at their central London head office. The role includes management of the Assistant Business Analyst.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare, through co-ordination with the commercial teams, production of annual budget, quarterly reforecasts and monthly outturns

• Analyse actual and projected performance versus plans and forecasts

• Input to UK Film presentation for Budget and Forecast

• Assist commercial teams in development / enhancement of tools to monitor critical variables driving underlying performance, including reporting to senior management

• Participate in departmental meetings and provide independent challenge to commercial assumptions through robust supporting analysis e.g. comparable titles, allocation of advertising spend by media etc

• Provide analysis relating to potential new business opportunities and ad hoc projects

• Analysis of advertising and marketing spend by media (internal and comparable titles)

• Liaising with 3rd party partners for sales forecasting and monthly reporting and reconciling

• Analysing weekly sales forecasts with Commercial Analyst

• Review marketing budget trackers with DVD team

• Analyse release strategy / dating and profile of DVD revenue

• Analysis of Stock Obsolescence provision

• Attend monthly meeting with commercial team and track risks and opportunities for the year

• Analysis of deal terms for revenue share and renegotiations of contracts

• Review Marketing Budget trackers with Digital team

• Analyse release strategy / dating and profile of Digital revenue

• Present month end numbers and variances to the Finance Manager

• Reconcile Balance sheet items relating to the DVD and Digital revenue and costs

• Prepare monthly stock reconciliation

• Forecast monthly cash for 16 week cashflow

• Support commercial teams through explaining financial processes, policies and techniques

• Manage and Develop two direct report's including appraisal's and objective setting

The Candidate:

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

• Articulate with advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information in a clear and concise way to both a financial and non-financial audience

• Commercial awareness and appreciation of the core aims of the business and where it sits in terms of markets, products, customers and suppliers

• Previous experience of system implementation / process improvement / project management experience is preferred

• Previous experience of providing analysis and support within a business is also preferred

• ACA / ACCA / ACMA qualified (first time passes preferred) with at least 3 years experience working in a similar role
