I urgently require Band 5 RMN's to work in Portsmouth to work in a private Hospital. You will also be expected to work in rehab & recovery, PICU and acute health services. It is a medium secure hospital, but the patients will have challenging behaviour, they are patients are between 18 - 65 years old.

You will be working a mixture of days, nights and weekends. Start date is within a few weeks, you will be working full time hours which is around 40 hrs per week. They are looking to take candidates on a locum basis minimum 3 months, they are also looking to take candidates on from temporary roles to permanent. Shifts are also available for candidates to also join the service's bank.

Key Role and Responsibilities

* Act as a keyworker, assess, plan, implement and evaluate care planning & risk assessment/risk management safety plans on a monthly basis with residents on admission and at appropriate intervals, providing support to residents with daily living, following support plans and working within the Recovery Model

* Ensure all interventions are documented clearly and comprehensively

* Ensure that the Recovery Star and/or any other models as identified is completed on admission and throughout the recovery process

* Communicate with other members of the multi d team to effectively utilise resources to help meet identified residents needs

* Ensure the correct administering & documentation of medicines in accordance with the organisation policy, legal requirements and NMC standards for medicines management

* Collaborate with other members of the Multi-Disciplinary team in ensuring a safe environment is maintained for residents, visitors and staff

* Contribute to the prevention & management of abusive, aggressive and challenging behaviour in line with least restrictive practice

* Participate in supervision, annual appraisal and competency assessments in order to reflect on and develop own practice

* Maintain PIN via the revalidation process

* To be responsible for upholding resident's rights under the Mental Health Act 1983 and ensure the requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 are known, understood and adhered to, including section 17 leave. Ensuring Mental Health Act paperwork is scrutinised and regularly checked. Provide residents with relevant information and documentation relating to leave entitlements and their rights under the Mental Health Act. Ensure residents are helped to get legal representation where appropriate and/or support from advocacy agencies

* Promote and ensure the good reputation of the hospital. To act as a positive role model, maintaining professionalism and to demonstrate a positive attitude to residents, their families, visitors and others

* Report and document any incident and escalate in line with incident reporting procedure

* Actively participate in reviewing and learning from incidents at the hospital

* Be aware of and work within Safeguarding Adults policies, be able to recognise the signs of abuse and report and document concerns to the deputy managers and/or hospital registered manager and MDT

* Contribute to the management of the hospital by working collaboratively with colleagues and developing and maintaining professional working relationships

* Competently and confidently present and discuss information regarding residents care and treatment at ward rounds

* Competently and confidently write quality reports and present information regarding residents care and treatment at CPAs, mental health act tribunals and hospital managers' hearings and any other professional meetings

* Aware of budgetary considerations which may impact on resident care

* Ensure that the resident's rights and dignity are maintained at all times

* Understand how to escalate concerns regards care and treatment and how the whistleblowing policy complements this

* Escorting residents to various destinations as required

* Willing and helpful to support and provide cover to shifts at short notice under direction of senior staff

* Ensure high levels of hygiene and infection control systems are maintained

* Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health & safety

* Maintain resident, staff, service and organisation confidentiality at all times

* Take responsibility for attending all statutory and mandatory training as stipulated including completion of e-learning

* To ensure compliance with internal and external standards and codes of conduct by:

* o Meeting all regulatory requirements

* o Complying with NMC Code of Conduct, service and organisational policies and procedures, CQC Regulations

* To report any hazards and defects, with the building or equipment, to deputy, hospital registered manager, or the maintenance person
