Swiss Setup/Lathe Setup qualified candidates are expected to be self-sufficient and fully capable of performing setups without supervision.

1st shift - Great opportunities for advancement and overtime
2nd shift - Adjusted hourly rates include a night shift premium

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / DELIVERABLES:
• Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, numerical control, and machining centers to fabricate surgical implant components
• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and/or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequences of operations, and setup requirements
• Measure and determine the dimensions required on sample pieces in order to determine conformance to finish specifications
• May be required to perform inspections and statistical analyses of processes to determine the actions necessary to maintain quality levels on parts and processes
• Select, align, and secure cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut
• Enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media
• Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control media as required
• Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications
• Set up and operate machines on trial runs to verify the accuracy of machine settings and/or programmed control data
• Install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment
• Test operations of units to ensure functionality and performance as required
• May be required to discuss machining and assembly problem resolutions with engineers, production personnel, programmers, and/or others
• Conduct the necessary investigations, research, and educational activities to ensure that responsibilities are met and maintained
• Support the efforts of the company and the team to produce positive and proactive actions
• Develop accurate plans considering all resources
• Perform set ups requiring 30+ tools
• Set up machines and verify the ability to repeat a maintain tight tolerances
• Determine and establish the proper intervals for changing tools and making adjustments

• Must be able to demonstrate skills in time management, maintenance of written procedures and processes in order to define the key processes and measures within the position's activities
• Suggest changes and improvements as they apply to the position's function and department
• Must be a highly-organized self-starter who can work independently and cooperatively with team members
• Ability to read detailed blueprints and drawings
•Knowledge of GD&T
• Knowledge of SFM Tooling and cutting conditions

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as percentages, basic statistical calculations such as CPK., fundamentals of plane, and solid geometry and trigonometry
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations using calculators, computers, or reference materials
• Ability to read and interpret complex geometry
