Responsible for all of the fire and security systems in over 40 FCPA buildings. Duties include: Routine maintenance and trouble shooting of fire alarms, fire suppression and security systems. Programs systems as necessary, replaces batteries to wireless systems annually or as required. Troubleshoots and repairs or meets with contractor for malfunctioning conditions, to include but not limited to, resetting activated pull stations and device re-programming issues. Coordinates and schedules all mandatory fire marshal inspections and accompanies contracted vendors and the fire marshal during 5-year, 1-year, and 6-month inspections for fire suppression systems, sprinkler systems and kitchen hood systems and provides and tracks reports in the Tririga maintenance management systems. Ensures that all corrective measures are taken on system deficiencies that are identified by the Fire Marshal's office.

Note: Position reports to 4030 Hummer Road in Annandale Virginia and will be dispatched to various Park Authority sites throughout the county.

Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to high school graduation or a GED issued by a state department of education; plus completion of an apprentice-level vocational training program in electronics; and one year of experience in the maintenance and repair of the electronic and electromechanical equipment specific to the position.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED: Motor vehicle operator's license.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a check of the Child Protective Services Registry, and a driver's license check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of the electronic and electromechanical principles and processes relevant to the work assigned; ability to operate the required power and hand tools and test equipment; ability to diagnose problems in electronic equipment and make repairs; ability to read and work from equipment manuals, schematics, and drawings; ability to participate in the training of new technicians; ability to keep accurate records and to generate accurate reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and customers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
All duties may require the climbing of a ladder and the ability to lift 50 pounds. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
