Learning Systems Administrator

- System Administration (60%) - The Learning Systems Administrator will work collaboratively with Information Technology staff to proactively manage the instructional technologies used on campus to meet the instructional needs of the university. This requires the individual to understand how the systems work, what data and reporting are available, how and what changes need to be communicated, and how to effectively test and manage new features. The primary systems include Canvas, Blue Explorance, and Webex. Other systems include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Office, Panopto, Respondus, Turn It In.
- Training and Documentation (20%) - The Learning Systems Administrator, through the presentation of workshops, individual consultations, and development of instructional materials, will train and support faculty on the appropriate use of software and technical resources to support effective teaching and learning.
- Instructional Systems Support (20%) - Serving as the second line of support for faculty and students using the Center's services, the Learning Systems Administrator will be responsible for assisting in the resolution of questions and problems received directly from individuals, tickets received from the Help Desk, or vendor communications.
- Investigates and proposes resolutions to technical issues surrounding the area of teaching and learning.
- Assists in the maintenance of the Center's website following University design guidelines.
- Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a database of events and participants.
- Communicates changes and updates effectively to impacted users.
- Independently manages projects from inception to completion.
- Provides design and production assistance to faculty in the development of online courses and content.
- Collaborates on the development, implementation, and evaluation of goals and initiatives of the Center.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Adhere to the college budgets
- Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technologies, Adult Education or related subject area OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in the use, support, and administration of learning management systems (e.g. Canvas) and other instructional technologies (e.g. lecture capture, online survey software, etc.).
- Experience with the following processes and software: SQL queries, API calls, HTML coding, spreadsheets, and databases,
- Evident knowledge of instructional design theories and practices, appropriate uses of instructional technologies, and effective teaching methodologies.
- Evidence of being a proactive, collaborative problem-solver and team member.
- Organized and able to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
- Evidence of the ability to take ownership of projects and work independently to achieve expected goals.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Experience in working with adult learners.
