Do you have
- proven experience with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS and Snowflake, along with SQL, Python and/or R
- proven experience in data analysis, modelling, engineering, and development processes
- experience in putting pipelines into production
- experience of deploying data solutions and cloud infrastructure via CI/CD pipelines
- experience of conducting analytics with large structured and unstructured data sets
- previous experience working alongside Data Scientists or other such analytical roles
- experience of using data visualization tools e.g. Tableau
- financial services experience? Particularly within the pensions industry, would be advantageous but not essential.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to join our brand-new data business, Heywood Analytics, within Heywood Pension Technologies. Our aim is to become the leading provider of data-driven, technology-enabled solutions to the UK Workplace Pensions sector, and this role is at the forefront of that growth opportunity.

The role
In this challenging yet important role, you'll be part of a small team whose mission is to maximise the value and promise of data and make it universally available. You'll work closely with architects, analysts and other key stakeholders to design, implement and integrate data pipelines from a variety of data sources, frequencies and latencies to build a data lake and warehouse.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and operating solutions to ingest data from both internal and external sources, ensuring data exceptions/rejections are identified
- Building ETL/ELT scripts and routines to facilitate the movement of data across the analytics architecture and integrate them into our data warehouse solutions
- Performing extensive data analysis, testing outputs and products to the appropriate quality level and creating automated, repeatable tests
- Responding to and resolving problems in databases, data processes, data products and services as they occur
- Working with our data science colleagues to accelerate data development and move from prototype to production
- Providing end user support and training for the data products that our team creates
- Driving an automation first mindset within our organisation and solutions
