Owlsworth IJP are a specialist contractor in the heritage sector working on prestigious and unique projects for clients that include Historic Royal Palaces, National Trust, English Heritage, Oxford Colleges as well as many private clients often on large country estates.

Our projects are typically within a 60 mile radius of our base in Reading, Berks with contracts ranging in values from £250,000 to £10,000,000

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the management team reporting directly to the Commercial Director.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.

The role will entail the day to day financial management of various projects (typically based on a JCT Contract form) and will include:

• Effective and timely preparation and submission of Contract Valuations
• Preparation and agreement of Contract Final Accounts
• Preparation of Extension of Time & Loss and Expense claim
• Sub-Contract selection, appointment and account management/agreement
• Effective change management
• Maintain accurate cost control & produce monthly CVR reports
• Support Contracts Directors in resolution of commercial issue.
• Assess, manage & communicate risk exposure
• Assist in development of systems and procedures

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a similar role for a Main Contractor
• Sound working knowledge of construction & contract law
• Degree qualified (preferred) in Quantity Surveying
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong commercial acumen
• Ability to work autonomously
• Ability to communicate confidently
