Please note that for this role, relocation to Switzerland is required. We can only hire EU-27 citizens or candidates with an existing Swiss working permit/citizenship.

For one of our clients in the insurance industry we are currently looking for a Financial Controller

Start date: ASAP
Duration: 9 months (with possible extension)
Location: Zurich (WFH is possible)

Responsibilities

  • Analyse data submitted by the Business Units and ensure accuracy of reporting in accordance with IFRS requirements, Group instructions, guidelines and policies
  • Assist Units in accounting and reporting matters
  • Comply with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, prepare backup and supporting documents
  • Preparing and publishing the half-year and end-year financial statements
  • Review of Investor relations material
  • Handling of ad hoc requests from senior managers, and other teams
  • Support the team in improving the analysis processes
  • Occasionally liaise with external auditors
  • A Group Financial Controller is also required to liaise with various stakeholders for the maintenance of master data information, Group Risk, for internal controls and disclosures, Investor Relations for review of presentations to management, investors, and many others.

Required Skills

  • University degree in Finance (Accounting and Controlling) or similar education
  • Previous controlling, accounting and reporting work experience
  • Willing to take ownership, hardworking, persistent, able to work under pressure, team-oriented personality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Solid use of Microsoft Office especially Excel (Power Pivot/Query)

Desired skills

  • Knowledge of BW (SAP)
  • Proactive attitude, flexibility
  • Investment accounting knowledge would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of IFRS and general accounting knowledge
  • Power BI knowledge big advantage
