Purchasing Assistant/Support - Brussels - 12 months + extension

One of our clients is looking for a purchasing support/Assistant for a 12 months contract in Brussels. The rate is negotiable.

Please find the description below:

The purchasing assistant works with the procurement team and the suppliers as well as dealing with transnational and cross-departmental tasks. The purchasing assistant provide them with administrative support for the ordering of materials and services. (S)He is usually the first line of support when a system or process issue is raised. (S)he also acts as a facilitator and trainer toward the business to ensure correct usage of the applications and the maintenance of underlying data.

Daily tasks but not limited to:

  • Assist the procurement team and suppliers as a first line of support
  • Maintain basic master data in SAP (suppliers, materials, services, contracts, purchase records, etc.)
  • Follow up with the registration of suppliers in Ariba
  • Process supplier's evaluations (incl. Graydon scores)
  • Test and train (power user)
  • Set up and organize an SAP key user group by ensuring that core information is communicated
  • Create and update documentation such as guidelines, Intranet, newsletter, etc.
  • Draw up implementation notes for users based on applications changes
  • Provide advice to users at all levels after implementation: correct input of input data and explanation of output documents.
  • Translate the above instructions and support in corresponding language
  • Support administratively the Operations and Excellence team
  • Communicate technical issues to BA (but decisions and prioritization sit in the hands of the Process Owner)
  • Monitor functional inbox and orders toward internal customers and suppliers
