Salary: £26 - 28k per annum (dependent upon skills & experience) Hours: 37 per week (Monday to Friday) Location: Green Lane, Walsall
At South Staffs Water we deliver clean and reliable water supplies to around 1.5 million customers within the South Staffs and Cambridge regions. We recognise the need for fresh thinking and flexibility in how we approach the future and respond to new challenges. We are looking for a team member with proven analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
We have an exciting opening for a Data Analyst to play an integral part in assisting the business in managing energy consumption, cost and associated carbon emissions across both South Staffs and Cambridge regions. Working within a small team you will be responsible for:
• Collating and monitoring billing information from our energy suppliers to ensure accuracy • Producing regular reports for Senior Management and other stakeholders • Regular data collection, analysis and error finding for energy, water and other processes / consumption • Assisting in the development of tools and models to analyse various metrics including but not limited to consumption, cost, and carbon • Maintaining relationships and liaison with data and system owners • Building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, e.g. suppliers.
You will have experience of working with large volumes of data, of undertaking data and trend analysis, with a good eye for detail. Ideally, you will have some experience of monitoring energy usage, undertaking monthly energy bill analysis and analysing trends in operating costs.
As you will also be providing data and information for regulatory and reporting purposes, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to contribute to management information reports.
You must be able to demonstrate a track record of managing large amounts of data, possession of an analytical background and strong IT skills, particularly in the use of MS Excel spreadsheets.
Attention to detail, excellent MS Excel skills, a passion for robust data analysis, problem solving, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role.
You will also be required to master the bespoke cost planning model using Quantrix software and report presentation software Qlikview. Experience of SCADA systems and VBA to manipulate data is desirable but not essential for the right candidate. Training will be provided.
This position will be full time; however, we are happy to consider part-time / flexible working for the right candidate.
