Mainframe MQ Systems Engineer

Prestigious Fortune 500 Company is currently seeking a Mainframe MQ Systems Engineer. Candidate will provide senior-level MQ for z/OS technical support (installation, implementation, administration, and maintenance) for all IBM Mainframe-based solutions supporting Issuing, Acquiring, and Payments clients globally. This support includes working and supporting internal and external clients using IBM's MQ solutions and work with other Mainframe-based technical teams in a high availability and global environment.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the installation, implementation, performance, testing and integrity of a large IBM MQ implementation
• Work with Development, Operations, and other technical teams on new and existing MQ project implementations
• Maintain IBM MQ system options for optimum performance and availability
• Assist with the development and maintenance of MQ standards and procedures
• Ability to provide global on-call support
• Work with internal and external clients in implementing MQ solutions and problem resolution
• Supporting and participating in Disaster Recovery exercises for all global data center locations
• Providing dump analysis and problem determination of root causes related to system problems and outages
• Working with computer operations to quickly resolve incidents and automate operational processes such as IPLs, Queue Manager recycles, and dump processing
• Ensuring High Availability and performance objectives, as required by customers and management are maintained for operating systems and for software components
• Experience setting up, implementing and troubleshooting clusters and queue sharing groups
• Administration using IBM and Independent Software Vendor products
• Previous experience with Vision Plus or IBM WAS is desirable

Qualifications:

• At least 10 years' hands-on experience supporting MQ in large IBM z/OS Mainframe environment
• Experience with Mainframe software installation, maintenance and support
• Two or Four-year college degree in Computer Science/Management or equivalent educational/work experience
• Ability to complete government background checks for necessary clearances
• Experience with IBM MQ for z/OS Advanced Message Security (AMS) and SSL encryption certificates
• Working knowledge of IBM REXX desirable
