Senior Linux Platform Security Engineer - Contract - Dublin

Red Kite Ireland, has a superb new contract opening working with our leading tech client in Dublin city. The role does require 2 days on site per week, so ideally suited to candidates already based in Dublin/Ireland. 5 years relevant experience is required. 12 month contracts on offer, and can start ASAP. Day rates will apply DOE level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing and configuring software security capabilities
  • Configure network security requirements based on established standards
  • Implementing tools and executing security tests to identify security vulnerabilities
  • Driving the implementation of the software security strategy
  • Configure systems to leverage PKI infrastructure and enforce encryption requirements
  • Collaborate with other Infrastructure, Systems and Network teams to build automated processes and orchestrations for security applications
  • Contribute to the design/build, test, implementation, and maintenance of integration with other security tools and platforms

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 5 years' combined experience working in security engineering and operations teams
  • Software Security Experience (security principles, threat modelling, exploit mitigation, vulnerability detection, etc.) or related work experience
  • Experience with:
  • Knowledge of network and web related protocols (eg TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, BGP and other routing protocols)
  • In-depth understanding of PKI and network security
  • Excellent analytical abilities and proven design skills
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills including production of crisp and easily understandable deliverables
    • Linux (CentOS preferred),
    • Database fundamentals for PostGreSQL,
    • WAF modules,
    • Automation using Bash,
    • Python or other similar Scripting languages,
    • Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible,
    • Containerization/Virtualization technology such as Docker, VMware or OpenShift Kubernetes
    • Load balancing tools such as HA-Proxy, Nginx or F5

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Bachelor's Degree or MS in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong understanding of the interrelation of all layers of the OSI model
  • Exposure to CyberArk or any PAM solution is a plus
  • Experience implementing cybersecurity controls using industry-leading practices such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, OWASP, Centre for Internet Security (CIS), ISO 27001, COBIT etc.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring security capabilities
