Data Solution Architect - Freelance - Remote

Robson Bale are looking for an Data Solution Architect to come on board for an initial 6 month contract, fully remote

6 month contract, market rate

Requirements:

• Experience in AWS data-focused solution architecture and design patterns to meet the needs of critical business applications, reporting, and analytics.
• Experience in architecting solutions using ETL technologies such as Glue to implement robust batch and Real Time data integrations.
• Design, build, conduct code reviews for ETLs and provide guidance to developers.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to research, architect, and automate the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) of a wide variety of Amazon Web Services (AWS) resources that are hosting data platform components.
• Experience with architecting and provisioning of AWS resources including, but not limited to EC2 Linux and Windows instances, Lambda, S3, EFS, RDS, Redshift, MongoDB/DocumentDB, DynamoDB, CodeCommit, Kinesis, Athena, and EMR.
• Agile project leadership of self and others including other architects, developers, operators, and suppliers partnering in the delivery of AWS services used by the data platform.
• Continuous improvements to intake request, CI/CD, CM, and other processes.
• Leads internal employees and external consultants
• Work closely with data scientists, Machine Learning engineers and deployment teams to optimize solutions from a data point of view.
• 3+ year of professional experience in ETL tools such as Glue
• Professional experience in provisioning big data solutions using AWS Analytics services and frameworks (eg, EMR, Spark, Hortonworks, Cloudera, etc.)
• Proficiency with AW Amazon Redshift, EC2, EMR, Spark, S3, Kinesis and RDS Databases
• Experience in Agile software development, and infrastructure management

Skills wanted:

• Experience with developing data science solutions using tools such as Python, R, TensorFlow in products such as Zeppelin/Jupyter Notebooks.
• Experience with developing solutions across cloud applications including Azure, AWS, Google
• Knowledge of cloud data development and container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker
