HMH is currently seeking a CAD Practice Manager / IT Support person who will provide leadership and direction to the firm on CAD technology, troubleshooting, user support, documentation and training. Low level support of the IT managers duties will also be part of this role.



Lead the Company CAD Committee.
Provide guidance and direction to CAD Committee to ensure operational and technical excellence.
Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
Support CAD vendor management

Planning and Budgeting

Provide CAD Planning and Budget Support during the Annual Planning Process
Recommend new CAD technology and assist in the creation of cost/benefit analysis.

Software, Hardware and Networks

Provide support to the IT Manager for the following
Installing CAD software, and adding hardware components
Downloading the latest CAD drivers and software patches
Maintaining CAD Peripherals
Setting up CAD backup, anti-virus, and firewall systems

Quality and Best Practices

Stay current on latest CAD technology and trends
Update office CAD standards as new ones emerge
Collaborate with other company leaders to ensure quality of design.
Identify opportunities and make recommendations for increasing workflow efficiencies.
Recommend best practices for solutions
Provide feedback to Management regarding requirement of new software or modification of existing software.
Continuously strive to improve the quality of work produced by the CAD Team.
Develop, implement and monitor CAD design standards and procedures to meet customer needs.
Work with project managers regarding technical issues, training and other CAD system issues.


Develop the CAD team through training and development
Support the HR Department to develops and implements in-house CAD training programs and budgets


Advanced knowledge of various software packages, including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit and Microstation.
Very familiar with various drafting techniques and technologies, as well as with the relevant CAD standards.
Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and a good eye for detail.
Excellent communication skills.
Good writing skills for producing technical documentation for various design software features, functions and customizations.
Leadership and management skills are needed to lead and motivate CAD Team them to ensure workplace productivity.
Resource management and planning skills for defining requirements for CAD equipment, as well as for purchasing it and estimating future requirements and costs.
Budgeting skills and experience are useful to support the planning process
Prefer candidates with a degree in an technical discipline, with formal training in computer aided drafting and design or in architectural drafting.
