The role is for an E-commerce department store in the Netherlands. The transition from a post-order company to one of the largest E-commerce retailers has been a successful one with YOY growth of over 20% and sales of nearly ¾ billion Euros. This growth has been driven by the successful implementation of a differentiated strategy, exclusive partnerships and substantial investment in technology, automation, and infrastructure. In addition, the client is actively investing in professionalising the finance function, both in terms of tooling as well as investing in talent, to create (Real Time) actionable insights and become a true co-pilot for the business. That's also where this role is important.
Lead budget, (re) forecasting and management reporting cycle for marketing including business reviews
Contribute to strategic marketing plan, marketing ROI & scenario analysis, capital allocation and ad-hoc analysis
Financial Business Partner for Head of Marketing, Leads and Community of Digital & Analytics, Creative Hub & MarCom
Support sr. Commercial Controller on digitalization projects, (consolidated) reporting or analysis on Buying & Sales spent
Experience with Tableau
In this position, you will be part of the Commercial Control team. You report to the senior Commercial Controller, who acts as the financial business partner for the Buying & Sales teams and both of you are supported by the junior Commercial Controller. As a team, you work closely together on improvement projects and support each other whenever necessary. You will act as the co-pilot for the Head of Marketing, Leads, and marketing community divided into the 3 marketing areas:
Digital & Analytics, Creative Hub, and Marketing Communication (CRM).
You support the strategic marketing plan by translating business decisions into financial impact, analysing marketing investment allocations, calculating ROI's and assisting in identifying profitable business opportunities for the marketing spend budget. You translate this into a solid, well-founded budget & forecast and track, analyze and steer the performance. You manage the periodic reporting cycle, making sure you really understand the underlying causes of variances, trends in marketing spent, ROI, and possible impact on business decisions, which you discuss with the business in the monthly performance reviews.
