leads a team of risk managers and is responsible for developing and managing the risk management governance and policy, Risk Appetite Statements, risk metrics, as well as supporting the Chief Risk Officer in controlling the financial and non-financial risks across the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Implement & monitor compliance Enterprise Risk Management Framework and related policies
  • Create and implement the risk appetite framework and key risk metrics relevant across business
  • Lead financial and non-financial risk assessment for new/proposed products, projects, and systems
  • Lead risk assessment of investment in portfolios of alternative assets e.g., private equity, venture capital, real estate, structured financial investments, gated hedge funds, real assets, and secondary investments
  • Lead the risk team in developing Board presentations to explain risk governance and policies, portfolio risk analysis, and individual investments
  • Support the company in responding to investors, auditors and regulators

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

  • Experience with managing both financial risk and non-financial risks (operational, cyber etc.)
  • Previous experience developing Enterprise Risk Frameworks and methodologies
  • Familiar with analyzing risk of illiquid alternative assets e.g., private equity, venture capital, real estate, structured financial investments etc.
  • Ability to understand complex business models and establishing relevant policies and governance
  • Experience working with senior leadership and developing Board level reporting
  • Experience with managing risk product teams which support daily business activity/risk assessments

Qualifications

  • MSC degree in finance or related field, preferably with CFA, FRM designations
  • 10-15+ years of experience in Enterprise Risk inside Banking, Asset Management, Insurance, Pension Funds or Risk-focused Consulting
  • Ability to work independently, think critically, make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with managing and mentoring team members
  • Result-oriented, attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
