The Registered Nurse is a full time position based in our Lake Mary, FL office.

Responsibilities include:

+ Direct patient care for pre-operative care, operating room care and PACU care. Operative procedures include egg retrievals, embryo transfers, hysteroscopy, and gynecologic surgery.

+ Contribute to physicians' effectiveness by identifying patient care issues; provide information and commentary pertinent to patient care plan; recommend possible options and courses of action as appropriate; implement physician directives

+ Coordinate care for assigned patients following the required RMA protocols and procedures, including the appropriate workflow chart processes and performance benchmarks

+ Document patient care services in EMR system

+ Navigate both computer and paper charting.

+ Have basic knowledge of IVF procedures.

+ Regularly monitor e-mails for patient arrival and special instructions, etc

+ Count narcotics with another RN/Physician. Give appropriate number of narcotics to the anesthesiologist.

+ Direct the anesthesiologist to document narcotics used in the narcotic book.

+ Admit patient including use of two-identifiers according to policy and procedure to the Recovery Room.

+ Insert IV catheter for hydration and medication administration.

+ Educate patients and significant others/responsible adults on discharge instructions

+ Scan patient bladder for readiness for embryo transfer

+ Coordinate OR flow of operation.

+ Admit patient post retrieval, assessing vital signs, oxygen saturation, LOC, and pain level.

+ Assist patient OOB to bathroom to void prior to discharge. Discontinue IV once patient is stable.

+ Discharge patients to home with a responsible adult after the discharge criteria have been met.

+ Audit and scan medical records.

+ Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with rules and regulation procedures and call for assistance when appropriate.

+ Protect patients and employees by adhering with infection-control policies and protocols, sterilization of instruments, medication storage and controlled substance regulations.

+ Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties; answering patient questions as permitted.

+ Assure quality care by adhering to therapeutic standards; follow physician practice and nursing division philosophies, as well as standards of care set by the state and other governing agency regulations.

+ Maintain patient confidence and protects operations by keeping all patient information confidential

+ Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients; comfort patients by anticipating their anxieties and answering questions and concerns

+ Resolve patient problems and concerns by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies

+ Patient education in regards to treatment plan and medications through e-learning and other patient education available

+ Follow up with patients regarding laboratory values and semen analysis results

+ Assist physician with in-office procedures as needed

+ Maintain a cooperative and productive working relationship intra-departmentally as well as inter-departmentally

+ BSN Degree required; active RN license without limitations required

+ Strong clinical skills and a minimum of 2 years clinical experience is required; prior experience in women's healthcare preferred

+ prior experience in post-surgical, operating room, urology or intensive care healthcare preferred

+ BCLS and/or ACLS and/or IV certification a plus

+ High energy, excellent interpersonal and multi-tasking skills, and demonstrated self-directed work ethic are required.

+ Excellent listening/counseling/interpersonal, and communications skills required to manage sensitive patient situation properly

+ Resourceful and well organized; committed to detail and follow-up

+ Ability to work independently, demonstrate good judgment and remain composed under stress

+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Office; prior EMR experience preferred

+ Must be available for some weekends and holidays

+ BSN Degree required; active RN license without limitations required

+ Strong clinical skills and a minimum of 2 years clinical experience is required; prior experience in women's healthcare preferred
