General Manager Conference Services
This position is located at Bentley Conference Center at Bentley University in Waltham, MA.
The General Manger of Conference Services Manager will be responsible for sales and operation of the conference center on the campus of Bentley University.
The General Manager will supervise a Conference Services Manager.
The General manager will have the ability to multi-task multiple meetings simultaneously and at different planning stages.
Identifies operational challenges/and or opportunities related to meeting and/or event and develops seamless solutions.
- Quote group space and perform follow up in order to secure maximum sales
- Manage all aspects of group booking from start to finish including quality control
- Negotiate separate contracts related to extra allotment, functions, meetings, site inspections etc. as required
- Answer and respond to calls from Internet inquiries
- Proactive maintenance of local accounts.
- Facilitate inquiries and site inspections.
- Administrative follow up; communicate with service delivery (Conference Services).
- Create contracts.
- Excellent telephone sales skills.
- Strong overall sales skills.
- Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills
- Possess a positive attitude and ability to work closely within a team environment
- Ability to make decisions, problem solve, multi-task and work under pressure

Directs all contract management service operations at a Conference Center Campus, Meeting Management or Lodging property. Plans, organizes, staffs, and directs multiple services which generally includes: sales and marketing, conference services, food and beverage, front office, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, engineering, conference planning, audiovisual technology, accounting and finance, human resources, development and professional growth of management team. Manages the client relationship on a daily basis while ensuring customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.
