With a presence in more than 70 countries, and growing - we look for talented people to grow our business, advance our science and contribute to our unique culture.Summary/Scope• The candidate will be part of a new and growing neuroscience team at Celgene and have the opportunity to creatively apply state of the art technologies to the study of neurodegeneration and gene regulation.• The candidate will be responsible for developing research projects aimed at identifying mechanisms of regulation of genes involved in neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation.• In particular, the candidate will have the opportunity to develop large scale genetic and chemical biological approaches for identifying key regulatory nodes in expression and pathologic aggregation of genes driving neurodegeneration. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:1. Design of next generation systematic screens for regulators of gene expression and protein aggregation.2. Design and execution of high throughput genetic screens.3. Characterization of novel regulators of neural differentiation, survival, neuroinflammation and protein homeostasis.Skills/Knowledge Required:- Candidate should have a Ph.D. and extensive lab experience in molecular biology and mammalian cell biology. - Experience in gene regulation, genetic screening and genome editing studies.- Experience in iPSC culture and differentiation would be helpful but not required.- Interest in neurodegeneration, inflammation, and or high throughput functional screening approaches.Neuroscience at CelgeneThe newly established Neuroscience and Imaging Thematic Department is focused on identifying and developing novel therapies for neurodegeneration. We are concentrating on mechanisms, pathways and targets that are known through genetics to play causative roles in human disease and whose modulation is expected to be disease modifying. A main strategy of our group is to develop partnerships with external leaders in technology and biology to build a world class drug discovery portfolio. In addition, we collaborate within Celgene to utilize our industry-leading understanding of protein degradation to identify and develop innovative medicines for neurodegeneration.Note: Postdocs will be eligible for Celgene benefits but will not be entitled to receive Celgene equity, bonuses or annual merit increases.
