Indirect Tax Accounting Analyst

About the Role:
We are looking for an Indirect Tax Accounting Analyst to support with Indirect Tax reporting across the business. You will work directly with the Indirect Tax Manager and Corporate Accounting Manager to oversee the monthly and quarterly filing/close process. You will ensure that filings are made on time and that submissions are legally compliant with local Tax laws. You will balance multiple priorities and will interact with various operating groups within the organization including accounting, treasury and real estate. This person will act as a cross-functional business partner to help build processes and improvements to optimize the month-end close. This role requires an individual with an analytical mindset, strong knowledge of multiple entity structuring, and foreign currencies. The ideal candidate is analytical, motivated and eager to take on new challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of Indirect Tax compliance reporting across all WeWork GST/VAT applicable countries
  • Aggregate invoices from WeWorks internal system and review them for Indirect Tax compliance against country specific matrices
  • Assist with information requests during Indirect Tax Audits
  • Carry out monthly analysis and reconciliation of the Indirect Accounts in Workday
  • Drive continuous improvements in the Indirect Tax return compliance process, through improving systems data and creating streamlined processes
  • Manage the Activities Tracker to ensure multiple work streams are moving forward according to the changing priorities
  • Work closely with the AP team to ensure Indirect Tax compliant documents are being received from suppliers
  • Liaise with third party advisors, as required, who may assist in managing all or some of the above

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree; major in finance, accounting, and/or economics preferred
  • 2+years of experience in finance and/or accounting preferred
  • General Accounting experience is desirable
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communicator and collaborator
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly motivated and willing to take on multiple responsibilities at once
  • Able to work comfortably under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of Workday is a plus
