General Purpose and Scope of Position:

Oversee and participate in the shipping, receiving, storing and issuing of product, inventory/fixed assets, maintain receiving and inventory control records and prepare related reports. Serve as a lead over assigned warehouse and trucking functions; train and provide daily work direction and guidance to assigned staff. Participate in overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations and general warehouse duties, including but not limited to; office administration, stocking and retrieving package and bulk containers, driving forklift, driving truck, and general housekeeping. Must enjoy working with diverse customer base in a fast-paced setting.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • Possession of a valid commercial Class A driver's license with a good driving record
  • Forklift Driver and Driving Certification (offered on the job)
  • 4 year college degree in business or logistics or other applicable programs
  • Proficient with computers/devices utilizing Microsoft Office, Apple IOS, and Windows applications
  • Must have 5 years or more in management and supervision of employees of similar size and operation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple assignments
  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills between both customers and fellow employees
  • Can effectively multi-task

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Provide support to drivers, and warehouse personnel
  • Oversee the efficient operation of the yard, warehouse and all vehicles
  • Provide inventory management in the best overall economic interest of the company
  • Oversee daily and monthly inventory counts
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring no product leaves, or enters warehouse without necessary paperwork
  • Assisting loading and dispatching of tractor trailers
  • Take action expeditiously on all aged and damaged inventory
  • Provide additional oversight to the maintenance of equipment
  • Determine storage location of products
  • Complete Hazardous Material shipping papers and train drivers, warehouse helpers and customers about transportation rules and regulations
  • Attend product training sessions and meetings when necessary
  • Oversee and participate in the receiving, shipping and storing of inventory items
  • Meet and complete all WECO regulatory safety and training requirements, including physical exams, self and other branch employees
  • Ensures that all parts are in stock, maintains proper inventory
  • Organize and maintain safety training and records
  • Ensure that warehouse has proper safety signs
  • Become well-rounded in all aspects of the branch to ensure profitability
  • Operate a variety of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and postage meters (as applicable); operate a computer and use assigned software to input data and generate reports
  • Maintain the warehouse in a clean, orderly, safe and secure condition
  • Make recommendations regarding proper storage, inventory and warehousing procedures and improvements in warehouse efficiency
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring no product leaves, or enters warehouse without necessary paperwork
  • Ensure compliance with Wilbur-Ellis safety and lead safety at the branch
  • All other duties as assigned
