Human Resources Coordinator

Location:

The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator will provide day-to-day support to areas of human resources including, but not limited to: recruitment, training, benefits, wellness, and events. This position may also be assigned to lead special project areas. Assignments will be coordinated with the position's manager to ensure that they are prioritized around the immediate needs of the department.

Essential Functions:

  • Supports the entire human resources office as the first point of contact for those entering the office.
  • Responds to general inquiries.
  • Assists with scheduling and planning for members of the human resources team, including setting up meetings and events.
  • Develops and assists in the development of human resources communication, as needed.
  • Creates, reviews, and edits designated departmental communications, including those communications created by others on the team.
  • Assists in the preparation of mailings and other employee communications.
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels.
  • Supports the training function by assisting in the development and delivery of training courses.
  • Researches, creates, and analyzes reports and data.
  • Assists in the planning and organizing of events led by the human resources team. Responsible for taking on the lead position for some event planning, as required.
  • Assists in the development and facilitation of training programs for managers to improve recruiting and hiring efficiencies and reduce turnover.
  • Supports the training area through the proper handling of administrative assignments, data entry, and report preparation.
  • Works with the benefits team to develop wellness initiatives that target lowering benefit costs for employees.
  • In coordination with the benefits team, supports benefit initiatives, including management of the wellness committee and wellness champions, plans and support wellness events, creates and provides wellness classes and wellness training.
  • Attends career fairs, as needed and directed.
  • Supports recruitment by reviewing resumes, helping with the onboarding process, and participating in new hire orientations, as needed.
  • Leads special projects, as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Standard office environment in Charles Town, WV, with occasional travel to Manassas, VA office location.

Required Skills:
  • Experience with Microsoft products including: Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Ability to develop and edit professional communications, both oral and written.
  • Willingness to work independently as needed, but also able to function as part of team.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing needs of the department.
