Job Description

Instructional Developers provide technical support to faculty in the use of technology applications while reinforcing pedagogical best practices. This includes holding training sessions, providing resources, and troubleshooting any issue that instructors have with classroom technology and enterprise technologies.

Developers assist Instructional Technologists in administration of the enterprise applications such as the Learning Management Systems (LMS), lecture capture systems, streaming servers, Google Apps and Respondus. This includes testing versions for upgrade, providing resources for campus implementation, coordinating with vendors, providing training and troubleshooting all issues.

Developers are the first contact for many who are having issues or struggling with technology. Developers create self-help material for all supported technology.

Developers assist in the creation of course materials for instructors in a variety of formats. This includes working with and managing students creating course content for faculty.

Developers participate in projects by providing subject matter expertise. This will include developing criteria, interacting with vendors, evaluating solutions, troubleshooting issues, and providing feedback.

Developers collaborate with instructors, campus administration, other groups in IT and LTIC.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Possesses conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within the Educational Support function

Experience supporting higher education instructors in use of learning technologies

Experience with graphic design, web design, Canvas LMS,

Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
