Job Description: Sr Engineer, Android App Product Development Position Summary The Device Intelligence and Analytics team within the Device Technology Team is looking for a versatile Sr. software engineer to develop back-end systems for mobile client applications. The team is responsible for providing big data metrics and analytics to better design and optimize network-device interoperability. The team has full ownership of crowd-sourced device handset data related to network technology and manages the entire data pipeline (collection, delivery, QA, ETL, aggregation, and display).The Sr. Engineer will thrive in a multi-function start-up environment while working closely with a tight-knit team of data scientists and systems engineers. The Sr. Engineer will be responsible to deliver production services at scale-applications may include back-end services including Data Base Management and CI/CD pipelines for deployment. Responsibilities: Responsibilities Understand end-user requirements and translate them into self-contained full-stack products Provide operational support for deployed services Provision infrastructure as required, both in-cloud and on-premises Administrate and secure running instances in accordance with organizational policy Work with data engineering vendors to ensure appropriate availability and reliability of end-to-end data services Implement unit tests for components; Facilitate automation of regression tests and integration tests Develop Continuous Delivery pipelines for rapid software deployment Provide appropriate version control and access policies for back-end software Skills Experience with relational and non-relational data bases (e.g., MySQL, Mongo DB, Cassandra) Demonstrated familiarity with AWS services including, but not limited to: Simple Storage Service (S3), Lambda, Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) Understanding of CI/CD tools and methods Knowledge of web interfaces and data structures (REST, SOAP, HTTPS, JSON) Experience in client-server messaging systems Can deploy fully containerized, platform-agnostic applications (Docker, Kubernetes) Familiarity with agile development workflows Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Configuration management code experience (using, e.g., Chef, Cloud Formation, Puppet) a plus Qualifications: Qualifications5 years of Full-Stack professional software development experience1 year of RHEL/Linux administration preferred; or equivalent certification Advanced knowledge of 2 modern general purpose languages (e.g., Java, Python, Ruby) Experience with Map Reduce a plus Able to gather requirements from internal customers independently Demand for data quality and consistency Education Minimum Required Bachelors Degree. Computer Science or Engineering General/Physical Requirements Must be able to communicate with others effectively through written communication methods. Must be able to communicate (talking, hearing, etc.) with others effectively through oral communication methods.
